Which Colt-grade Ethernet service is right for you?
With an advanced portfolio of Colt-grade Ethernet technology to choose from, you now have the flexibility to build a service that fully meets the needs of your organisation.
When deciding which Ethernet service is best for you, you'll need to consider:
We can help you to select the best Ethernet service for your organisation, and to enhance it to create a bespoke network infrastructure. One that will fit your needs perfectly today but which has the flexibility to grow with you.
Our portfolio of Colt-grade Ethernet services includes:
Colt LANLink is a portfolio of services using Ethernet technology to interconnect your local area networks (LANs) seamlessly across the wide area. This allows you to run multiple sites as a single office, reducing duplication of applications and simplifying the sharing of information and systems across your organisation.
Using Colt LANLink, you can connect LANs within the same city (LANLink Metro), within the same country (LANLink National) or between countries (LANLink International), using point-to-point Ethernet connections run via the Colt network. This makes it ideally suited to organisations with in-house expertise that need resilient, high-bandwidth connections for their day-to-day business, or to enable disaster recovery.
With its speed, flexibility and resilience, plus the ability to achieve significant cost savings, Colt LANLink Point-to-Point is an ideal service to upgrade legacy point-to-point leased lines.
An alternative point-to-point connectivity is Colt LANLink Hub and Spoke. Here, you use one of your sites (for example your head office or data centre) as a hub for your Ethernet connectivity. Each of your sites is connected to the hub via a single spoke connection, and traffic between them can be routed via the main site.
A Colt LANLink Hub and Spoke topology saves the expense and complexity of connecting all your sites directly to each other.
This service is ideal for organisations that have centralised their business applications, want to consolidate multiple point-to-point circuits, or need a flexible and cost-effective replacement for a legacy ATM network.
It is an excellent solution for companies needing to connect multiple sites with a regular demand for high-bandwidth traffic – and especially those growing businesses who want a predictable and affordable solution to infrastructure development. It is also a good option for information providers who sell services to multiple end-users.

As its name suggests, Colt Any-to-Any networks enable each of your sites to communicate directly with any of your other sites. Configuring your Ethernet network in this way provides a simple, high bandwidth network infrastructure in the form of a virtual private network (VPN), with connection speeds of up to 1Gbps.
Any-to-any is an alternative to an IP VPN. The main difference is that, while an IP VPN is managed by your network provider (such as Colt), an Ethernet any-to-any network hands control to your in-house team.
An any-to-any switched service creates a virtual local area network (vLAN) that is shared by all connected sites. This gives you lower equipment costs, reduced operational complexity, aggregation of bandwidth and simplified scalability. It particularly suits organisations who have significant interbranch traffic between distributed sites.
We offer three solutions in this area: Ethernet Private Network (EPN), Switched Ethernet VPN (SE VPN) and CPE Solutions. There are significant differences between these services, but if you want to understand these better, simply contact us and we'll be pleased to discuss your requirements and suggest the most appropriate solution.

Colt CPE Solutions enable you to add managed switches or routers to Colt-provided connectivity services such as Colt LANLink. This means that you can benefit from the flexibility and cost-efficiency of Colt-grade Ethernet while outsourcing some or all of the management to us. Working in this way reduces the impact on your in-house resources and enables you to take advantage of our dedicated skills.
You can further enhance your network by using a range of added features such as proactive monitoring, online performance reporting or Class of Service (CoS).
